Client One · The Founding Five

Kia

📍 5 founding spots for October.

~Kia

I'm helping five skilled professionals land their first client in 30 days.

You'll use the skills your job already pays you for, in about 20 minutes a day. And you don't have to quit (yet!).

By day 30, you'll have:

Stop being scared of Sunday.

If you're good at your job and quietly done with it, you've probably been told there are two ways out. Wait for someday, or quit and take the leap. Both keep you stuck, and every month you wait, the default wins.

There's a third option. Keep the paycheck and build on the side.

Client One turns the work your job already pays you for into a client of your own, through small daily reps instead of one big leap. You don't need to post anything publicly (unless you want to), and you don't need an audience. Your first client is probably already in your phone.

Start before someday.

Who's this guy?

Quick version. I've been traveling the world for the last 8.5 years, and the only reason I can is that I learned to land clients and build my own business online.

I've also been a bartender, a waiter, a busboy, a substitute teacher, a temp and a marketing manager in a cubicle. So I know what it's like to be stuck in a job that pays the bills and nothing else.

I spent about ten years chasing music. It taught me exactly one useful thing: how to work hard for a long time with no reward. Turns out that one comes in handy.

Then I got into high-ticket sales, first as a setter, then as a closer. I spent $16,000 on sales coaching and figured out three weeks in that I don't love being on the phone all day. That's why I don't offer a "free consultation." I'm not here to sell you (you're welcome).

So I switched to copywriting. I landed my first client as a total stranger on Upwork, then wrote sales pages, VSLs and creative strategy for agencies. Hundreds of proposals and dozens of clients later, here's the shortcut I wish I'd had: start with the people who already trust you.

Recently, after working for clients and companies the last few years, I decided to switch back to customers. Aka you. I got a bit burned out with the agency life, and honestly, it was the kick in the ass I needed.

Meanwhile, friends (and friends of friends) kept texting me the same question: how do I get my first client? I've been helping people with their offers for years and never turned it into an offer of my own, which is a little embarrassing for a guy who writes offers for a living. So here it is.

This won't work for you if you…

But if you…

…then this could be your month.

Consultants and analysts fit. So do designers, editors, copywriters and strategists. If a business pays for what you do, it counts.

How it works

It's one-on-one and async. Before day 1, you fill in a short intake and I build your custom 30-day roadmap from it. After that it's one small exercise a day, about 20 minutes, and one deliverable a week. I review every deliverable and send it back as a voice note.

The plan is simple:

Week 1 · The offer

You turn what you do into a one-page offer: who it's for, what you deliver, the result they get and a pilot price.

✅ The win: one sentence a business (or client) can say yes to.

Week 2 · Proof, people and promise

Up to three work samples or before-and-afters. Got none? Fine, we work with what you've got. Then ten people who might know someone who needs this, and a draft of the message you'll send them. I go through it with you line by line.

✅ The win: a message you're proud to send, and ten names to send it to.

Week 3 · Outreach

You send it to your ten and tell me who replied and what they said.

✅ The win: real conversations with people who have the problem.

Week 4 · The Yes

Got a bite? We scope it, and you start delivering. No bite yet? Ten more people and round two.

✅ The win: your first client, or a clear next round.

You're either doing the work or you aren't. That's the whole system.

Bonuses

Each one takes an excuse off the table.

Quick facts

So the worst case is 60 days working with me for $500. You in?

You're a fit if:

  1. A business already pays for your skill. Through your employer counts.
  2. You've been doing it for three years or more.
  3. You can protect 20 minutes a day. Lunch counts. The car counts.
  4. You'll message people you already know, which is the whole trick.
  5. You take feedback without sulking. Mostly.

How I sell this

No high-pressure sales call, fake scarcity or hype. You apply, I read it myself, and I tell you honestly whether I can help. If it's a fit and you want in, you're in. If it's not, no hard feelings.

Ready? Two steps.

  1. Apply below. It takes about five minutes.
  2. I read it myself and reply within 48 hours. If we're a fit, you get the payment link and start on a Monday.
